Thanks to all of my followers! 🙂 Lately, I’ve been working on backing up a lot of my photos on Flickr. While on the site, I’ve been checking out the filters in the built-in photo editing program there called Aviary. … Continue reading
So my fascination with flowers has grown from photography to gardening to a sketch for a new tattoo to even more ideas that I don’t want to talk about before I complete. I think this might be one of my … Continue reading
Here’s a photo I took of a hosta a few years ago.
As a newish homeowner, I think these plants are great because they require very little maintenance!
I used a photography app called Retro Camera to take this picture. It is a pretty good app with some nice filters, the main downside is that you have to take the photograph with the app, you cannot retroactively apply the filters.
I’ve complained a lot this year about how terrible my tulips looked. Everyone else seemed to have tall, beautiful tulips! Like this one! This is a tulip from my friend’s house. I don’t know much (anything really) about caring for … Continue reading
I have been eagerly waiting for SPRING all winter, and I found it necessary to document the spring blossoms before they fade away.
Here is a photograph that I took on Sunday, before the frost we had. My hands were frozen, but I was determined!
I shot this on aperture priority with my 35mm lens on my old Nikon DSLR. I’ll be posting more soon 🙂
Ferris Wheels are a pretty popular subject for photographers. After all, they are a very recognizable feature of any carnival or theme park. I wanted to see how far I could take this image away from how it looked on that bright and sunny day.
This is the Wonder Wheel, located in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NYC. According to Wikipedia, it was built in the 1920’s. If you go to NYC, Coney Island is a fun place to see and the view from the top of the Wonder Wheel is awesome!
So I really like taking pictures of landscapes and flowers, but I also love taking portraits. Dramatic portraits are fun!
This is one of my favorite portraits that I have taken. The model for this photo shoot was my sister-in-law Christine! I had a little bit of luck with the great light from the setting sun, a great location and a person who is comfortable in front of a camera. If you are looking for a photographer and are in the Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit area, I am available for commission 🙂
Here’s a photo of a Chinese Pagoda that I took in San Francisco last year, at Stow Lake. I’ll post another picture tomorrow!
Lately, I’ve been working on going through some of my photographs from last year and editing them in the digital darkroom – which means Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, in my case. There’s sometimes a disconnect between the picture I … Continue reading
I have been looking through my spring photos from last year. The winter has been long this year, and it’s finally starting to feel like spring. I’m thinking of starting a small business selling some of my photographs as prints, … Continue reading
Autumn has left the trees bare… here’s a picture I took earlier, when the leaves had just started to change.
Unfortunately, I’m pretty far behind on everything, including posting pictures. I have a bunch of beautiful photographs that I took this year that are still hidden on my computer…
It’s hard to escape the crushing obligation of working for someone else, or the dreariness of mundane tasks that need to be done, instead of doing what you want to do with your life.
But I hope someday I can spend my life documenting these little moments in time. It’s what I love to do.
I met up with some old high school friends for the latest photoshoot!
On this cool autumn day, we wandered around the Arb and Island Park in Ann Arbor taking pictures. It was very serene and relaxing, the leaves and water were so beautiful!
